Training and Development Specialist 

Job Description 

The Training and Development Specialist supports the design, development, and continuous improvement of company-wide training programs while assisting with internal recruitment efforts for in-office roles. This role works closely with the Talent Development Supervisor to help create engaging learning materials, apply instructional design principles, and maintain training programs within the Learning Management System. In addition, the position plays an important role in supporting the recruitment process by coordinating candidate screenings, tracking progress through applicant systems, and ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for all candidates. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead in the creation of engaging training materials that include worksite presentations, manuals, and e-learning modules companywide. 

  • Lead in the execution of full-cycle recruitment for in-office staff which includes conducting screenings, scheduling interviews, and gathering proper onboarding documentation. 

  • Take part in investigations with the Talent Development Supervisor and department heads to identify skill gaps and performance improvement opportunities. 

Additional Duties: 

  • Help incorporate learning principles and instructional design techniques to increase employee engagement. 

  • Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to manage all training programs. 

  • Track all candidate resumes, screening assessments, and candidate progress using the company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS). 

General Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Ability to work through high-volume operational needs, streamlining and organizing all workflows. 

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement in learning. 

  • Strong communication skills for effective internal and external collaboration. 

  • Be able to quickly learn new applications, software, and dashboards as adopted and used within the company.
